The Perioperative Staff Nurse is a qualified professional nurse who is
directly responsible to the Perioperative Charge Nurse and Surgery
Department Nurse Manager to supervise, plan, organize, and direct activities
in the surgical suite.
• Accept leadership responsibilities under varied routine, critical,
and/or emergency situations
• Responsible for producing desired patient status and health outcomes
through management of nursing staff, equipment, supplies and systems that
organize work to be performed
• Maintains strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of all patient
information, staff and hospital business
• Assists in developing and maintaining nursing objectives, standards
and policies
• Participates in staff development and teaching of personnel
• Must develop and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships with
all staff members
• Age(s) of patient served and age-specific technology
